Love on the Street

When I walk around my neighborhood I stop to read the sidewalk musings of others.  A lot of these are declarations of love.

 I am sharing some that I see when wandering the streets of San Francisco.

This is my Valentine to you...

Like the Rev. Cecil Williams says at the end of Celebration "Go forth with love in your heart".

Splish-Splash

I had the opportunity last month to do some styling for the PB Internet team.  They wanted to show various shower curtains in a bathroom setting rather than their typical swatch format.

My friend, Brad Knipstein, was coming into the studio to do an Easter re-shoot (that I got to style with the Senior AD).  It turned out, that because there was a huge load of pictures needed, the Digital Studio asked him to stay on through the next day.  So Brad and I spent a day playing in the bath.

Just like the table top shoot I had the opportunity to style little bathroom scenes.  We had a good time playing with angles and ideas.  I "shopped" in the PB prop cages and came up with some fun still-lifes.

Out of the seventeen curtains we shot that day... these are my favorites.  Plus, some reportage by Brad.

Brad and I both agreed that this one is the best... for it's simplicity.

I kept all of the styling simple because really it's about the shower curtains.

A Day at the Office

A few months ago I was working on a job for Williams-Sonoma... styling linens for the website.  I was informed by the Art Director that I would also need to be prop and food styling for the following days' shoot.


That night I went shopping with my $100 budget to get some various food for the shoot.  As I was walking to the store my dog stuck his nose into a Boulangerie bag in front of the cafe.  Inside was a beautiful round loaf of bread.  Yes, I took it.


I had a bag of groceries, a heavy loaf of bread and with the help of my friend, Martha, it was a very productive day collaborating on food and prop styling.


Everyone had a good laugh when we realized how many scenarios that the "Bruno loaf" was actually used.
